Mundt Mountain Residence (Marcola, OR)
2006

This compact residence was designed for a property located along the Marcola River. The home will replace an existing pre-manufactured home and was designed so that the owner can complete construction with one assistant. The home sits on the north side of an existing forest clearing and is stretched along the east-west axis to maximize winter daylight. Where practical, the upper portion of walls have been eliminated to maximize daylighting distribution from light bouncing off of light shelves onto the ceiling surface. Full height walls are shown in solid black, while gray walls indicated partial height walls. Walls have been completely eliminated within the living areas maximize interior space and provide balanced lighting throughout.
